you can’t use wget
like that because of how GitHub works.
Here’s the file.
Download using your browser and put it wherever you need it then use tar xf
to extract
UserCredentialReset.tar.gz (4.1 KB)

Might be getting closer, but landed on Permission denied after following you directions from 3 days ago.
pi@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver $ sudo tar -xvzf UserCredentialReset.tar.gz
./UserCredentialReset.sh
pi@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver $ sudo bash
root@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver# systemctl stop plexmediaserver
root@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver# pwd
/usr/lib/plexmediaserver
root@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver# ./UserCredentialReset.sh
bash: ./UserCredentialReset.sh: Permission denied
root@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver#
you run ./UserCredentialReset.sh
as sudo ./UserCredentialReset.sh
Did you also sudo chmod +x UserCredentialReset.sh
Awesome, not sure what any of these commands are doing, but I seemed to have entered them in the correct order, and was asked to copy my claim token from plex.tv/claim. Once I did this, I saw the following:
Stopping PMS
Clearing Preferences.xml
Getting new credentials from Plex.tv
Claim completed without errors.
Username: savenelroy
Email: rick.dorgan@gmail.com
Starting PMS
Complete.
root@raspberrypi:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver#
I tried to start PMS (sudo systemctl start plexmediaserver) as your instructions suggest, but only see the option to Get Plex Media Server when I click on My Media.
What you posted above, shows me it was claimed.
Are you opening the server by its LAN IP address ?
You won’t be able to open it through app.plex.tv until after you enable remote access (Publish) the server the first time.
Yes, I tried the following:
http://192.168.1.151:32400/web/
http://127.0.0.1:8888/web
Both load the following:
Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.151:32400.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.
Hey @ChuckPa. Any more ideas on this one?
Hey @ChuckPa. I’m still without a running PMS. Doesn’t look like others have much to say about this scenario. Think this is something we could get working again? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
