an odd thing happened when resuming and stopping a show on my windows phone ... displaying the correct device but missing which platform it was on, and then changing it to plex/web on chrome via chromecast when i hit stop. i've removed reference to platform since i know which player is on which platform but the mis-notification of unused devices is misleading.
The device probably comes over with a blank platform. I'll add an enhancement to be able to customize the friendly names of players users use.
Hey JB
It would be great if per user, we could have a "log of events" additionally to focus on videos.
Or "per user" option in "log of events"...
:)
BTW, MySQL with 3 secondary PlexNotify applications, all running great so far (with PushOver on main) :D
Very nice to see how stable it is in this early stage.
Yeah the filters on the stats screen are going to be a pop out menu with added filers for user, platform, player.
I'm not sure how to fix this since it simply reports what PMS has but when using CC or when remote users are watching movies on my PMS, the "caching" (or whatever else) is causing PlexNotify to report "pauses" and "resumes".
In this example, remote user is watching a movie from PHT

Not, it's enabled.. The issue (which I guess isn't really an issue) is that those aren't "real" pauses and resumes, it's just caching from client (that even remote user doesn't see)... If I wouldn't want to see those "fakes notifications", I would have to disabled pauses (ok with that) AND resumes (not OK since this one would be relevant, if a user starts a playback where he left it off)...

You mean Plex Notify was closed and you opened it and received all notifications that have accumulated for all videos it was watching since it was closed

no, I mean, in reality, remote user started playback (should have a "start" notification) and never paused/resumed. But in PlexNotify, it's like he paused several time (and resumed).
PlexNotify is doing what it should; reporting PMS but I was wondering if it would be possible for PlexNotify to make the difference between real pauses and the ones created because of buffering... (maybe with minimum pause duration or something). Sorry if I'm not clear...

Anyway, I'll do more tests
Oh I see yeah. I don't cache any information so if there's pauses and plays because of buffering that's the way the system was designed. You can increase your update interval if you don't want to get so many of these. There's no real way to distinguish buffering from actual pauses and plays.

ok, thanks, so about the update intervals, this applies to everything right (pushover, notification screen, statistics, etc...) it's how often it checks PMS status?

Yeah the stats screen is 6 seconds. The update interval is for checking the PMS
Later on, when you don’t have so much on your plate, it would be nice if PN could automatically send an update to users that are currently using my PMS to let them know that others are also using it. This would be useful when a PMS is on a slow network or has older hardware. Ideally it would be possible to set the number of users before the email goes out.
I don’t know if this is even possible but I thought I’d mention it.
No settings update tonight. I have too many things in progress. I added more filters to statistics, the settings are still in progress. User images are able to be set. Ill have the update tomorrow night.
