Is there no need to have time/date calculated into the hash? Also, will there be an option of hiding the album art/posters in the desktop notifications?
Can't wait to try this out :)
Yeah, I can add that. I also want to make it so you can edit the Notification text.

Like the sound of that. Would be nice to be able to give users/platforms custom/friendly names, similar to what PlexWatch offers. Is that on par with what you've got in mind?

Quick update for everyone.
First off I changed from Github to https://plexnotify.codeplex.com/ I will keep my repo/Documentation/Tickets there. The code is published but no releases yet, all code/databse schemas should be considered unstable and subject to change before first release.
Releases and updates will be distributed with Clickonce (over the web installer), the link will be available on the codeplex download page upon first alpha release.
I am stating work on the basic statistics tomorrow. The first release is on track for the Feb 2nd.
What about onscreen notifications? Like maybe something in the api to push a notification to a Plex player by hostname.
This would be great for users that use Tasker

So I looked into it and you cannot send messages to cliens. They would need something client side. However I am building a bunch of features to keep users informed with things like email, rss feeds, the ability to subscribe to different notification engines (such as prowl or pushover) to get notifications on when videos are added and more. So there will be many different alternatives.

Over the next week I will be updating screen shots on the codeplex page. I am going to remove the content from the original post on this thread as all the information is on https://plexnotify.codeplex.com/ so I dont need to continuously update it in two spots.
