Does plex have a client for the WD media players? I don't see one listed.
No.
It works on mine, it uses the WD live interface, BUT it does show dvd artwork which the wd tv live won't do on it's own
Semantics: there is no Plex client for WD boxes, but you can access the Plex DLNA server on WD boxes (or you can access shared network folders directly). Different WD models may or may not show the video cover art, I don't believe any other metadata will be available from Plex via DLNA.
