Plex Pass Community Roundtables

Video recordings from the Plex Pass roundtables are now available!

Plex Pass Session 1 (August 2016)
Plex Pass Session 2 (August 2016)
Plex Pass Session 3 (August 2016)

Awesome! I am checking it out now. Thanks!

On session one you talked about being more open with bug reports etc and wanted examples of companies that are not open source who work with the users regarding bug reports, testing etc. Take a look at Bohemia Interactive and their game Arma 3. Yes, there are a lot of bugs in the game, but the work actively with the customers to report bugs, test beta versions etc.

Plex now has a new TV series ‘Plex Chats’ I look forward to watching the first three episodes

Just watching some of the video roundtables. I could cut the cord if I could get more kids services but the biggest thing would be sports. Being in the uk means I have to buy access to sky or BT sports. If I could get that access through plex would make life a lot easier. Plus I would love more admin control on the server side to control quality for some users

I was certainly encouraged to see audiobooks getting a healthy discussion.

I was a little disappointed with some of the feedback, though. It seemed like the discussions were bogging down regarding the issues with metadata due to a lack of audiobook standards. I’d just be happy if I could play a series of audio files in a folder and have Plex remember where I left off, kinda like what already exists for TV series. I can clean up the metadata myself until a more elegant solution is provided.

I can totally understand that and the product team is well aware of how much desire is behind this feature request. I am making sure they get all this additional feedback as well.

Why we still cant download the install from plex server for WD Mycloud Pr4100 and Pr2100 from the site of plex !

we are still running on a very old version please solve this problem for us

This seems like video content… and Plex plays video content… You guys should make a channel for this so we can easily access it in the same comfy place we view our other media.

Hey everyone. This will be the last post in this thread as I will be closing it. Don’t want this thread to become a dumping ground for reporting issues and feature requests, since we have more appropriate sections for that. I did want to mention Plex’s announcement today of DVR! This has been an extremely hot topic and was brought up in all of the roundtables. Plex has been hard at work for quite a while developing it and by watching the roundtable recordings I’m sure you can see that we dropped some light hints, but couldn’t really get into it before the official announcement. Check out the blog post and the dedicated forum we have for it during the beta period. There are ton of eyes on this forum, from product management, engineering, qa, and support - as we want to make sure we get this right while its still in beta.

Ok I lied… This is the last post in this thread! Another feature request from the roundtables was to have a simple, one-button type solution for people to gather up their logs and export their database. It was mentioned that it would be helpful in reducing the time and trouble in asking for this when helping out other uses in the community. This was also been a huge request from Plex Ninjas. Well, this has landed! It’s currently in the same beta release of PMS you download to get DVR found here. In the Server settings, scroll down and click on Help and there you will have the option to one-click download logs and export the database.
