What goes into how his quality shows? My settings? internet upload speed on my setting…his internet is faster than mine…any help on how i can improve on all of this..Thanx
Verify that when he plays a video that your Plex dashboard shows that it’s a direct connection. If there some network issues, the connection may be using the Plex relay which means the data is going from your server to Plex and from Plex to his client. There is bandwidth cap on the relay which means the data maybe getting transcoded to a lower resolution.
how do i verify if it’s a DIRECT connection..what am i looking for>?
Goto Settings->Status->Dashboard. That should show the status

I’d suggest taking a screen shot of the dashboard and the bandwidth graph and post them. That will make it a lot easier to figure out what is happening. Also what client is he watching with? TV? Firestick? etc.
we both use me ps4 upload speed 30ish max…his is ps5 upload speed 50ish max…i’ll post a screen when he turns his on…and yes on both using tvs hooked up to PS4+5 My server is on my Imac which gets 40ish upload

Definitely seems like you are using Plex relay. See that Indirect in the Plex for PS5 section of the dashboard.
If you look at Settings-> Remote Access. What does it say?
Dumb question, but did you actually setup your router for remote access?
Just for a test, Go into Settings->Network, then unclick Enable Relay (presuming its enabled).
Then see if your friend can connect
