Hi again Atomatth, after getting the updates there does seem to be fewer complete crashes and restarts but I trying to fast-forward through a commercial, going to far and then hitting RWD to get back often causes a crash.
The problem of not being able to fast forward or rewind at all happens maybe a third of the time. This problem used to happen less often with previous versions. When this happens I have to stop playback and start it again, then all is well and I can skip again.

Just about at the end of my rope with Plex LiveTV and DVR. I’m happy to check logs etc but I’m beginning to think it is just not ever going to work as well as Channels. Any suggestions?

When the issue is observed capture the logs and post them here.
I agree watching live TV using DVR funtions is very frustrating. I have EyeTV and the DVR functions work very well. You can use the left/right arrow keys to jump forward and back and can set the amount of seconds each one will go. These work all the time. Also you can use the up/down arrow keys to change the channel. Most of the time I use EyeTV to watch live TV because of this. Unfortunately EyeTV has had TV guide issues for several months now so this has been frustrating as well.
