Plex priorities IPv4 in a Dual Stack environment

Hello,

I have a minor inconvenience witch my Plex setup.
I’m using my Plex Server with a Dual Stack Internet connection. So i got a IPv4 and a IPv6 Prefix.
Port forwarding for IPv4 and firewall rules for IPv6 are in place. So I enabled IPv6 in the Plex Server and its working.

The Web UI is available via IPv6, but video files are still loaded via IPv4.
Plex uses a domain like 1-2-3-4.xxx381bbxxx24exxxf5b05f5dxxxf4xx.plex.direct to point to the IPv4 Address.
If i block the address in my browser Plex is using the IPv6 Address as a fallback for the Video files.

Shouldn’t it be the other way around. IPv6 with IPv4 fallback.

Is there a way to prioritize IPv6 in PMS or is this a bug?

My ISP has better routing for IPv6 addresses, so i would appreciate a solution for this inconvenience.

I don’t know of a way to change priority. I do know that IPv4 is used for remote access as Plex does not yet support remote access via IPv6. That might be why they prioritize it that way.

If you are interested, you can vote on the IPv6 remote access feature here: Ipv6 support for myplex
