I am trying to stream from my server to my mobile device, I’ve turned all quality settings to maximum, transcoding off, as much as I can find about maximum quality and bit rate both client side and server side, yet I can clearly see the videos are being transcoded, not original quality like selected in the player. I can see this both in image quality, and the fact my cpu goes nuts when I play, sometimes up to 80 percent usage of an 8700k. Any ideas? Thanks.
if you have access to tautulli, it will give details on what the server is doing (ie if it is transcoding video or audio or both).
otherwise, we need logs to even begin to help you.
please recreate problem and save the logs.
Where did you set this? The only place this can be done is in your PMS settings. If you did enable that setting, it will not transcode and the playback should fail. If you are just changing settings in the client, there is no way to turn off transcoding. It will transcode if needed.
