Hi, i’m new on the plex platform, i’ve recently build a server based on windows server 2019, all works just fine, but when i try to play a 4k film and do a conversion to it the cpu can’t keep on and the video on the client buffer, but the problem is that the cpu during the transcoding processis only at 30/40% so is not use all… i’ve purchased the plex pass to use the hw acceleration. I hope that we can resolve this problem, thanks.
Riccardo.

Ok, so you have HEVC video. Transcoding requires 2 parts, a decoder and encoder. Depending on your hardware, one of these may not support HEVC, so it has to use part of the CPU. I’ll need the log from your server after trying to stream this file to know more.
ok, when i come back home i will provide the log, i’ve to startup the debugger mode? restart the server and provide the log?
Also my setup is a Mobo whit embedded cpu that an handle 4k transocding that is this, 8gb of DDR4 ram, no GPU and an SSD for the O.S., all my media file are stored in a NAS, a QNAP TS-128 that is connected whit a gigabit switch to the rest of the network whit CAT5E cable.
I’ve choose this motherboard (the ASRock j4105) because an user on another forum purchased this particular one and made his server by this, and by his told he can handle 3 4k transcoding simultaneously… I was very sceptical about this…
