Hi, I’ve been having this issue as well - Plex randomly crashing with this version (and it never was before). I turned on the Memory flag you mentioned - here are the logs.
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-11-24_10-45-12.zip (2.3 MB)
Finally had a chance to grab some logs after a crash. Please see the attached zip!
Logs-12-1-2021.zip (7.5 MB)
Happened to me again even after latest update.
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-12-04_10-37-27.zip (4.9 MB)
Please leave ALL the files in the ZIP.
Removing the older PMS logs (just before the crash) prevents analysis / helping.
Hey Chuck
Did you see anything in my logs? This has happened to me once again a few hours ago.
@ChuckPa
Synology DS1019+
DSM 7.0.1-42218
Plex Media Server 1.25.0.5282-7000
From previous issue, I have fs.inotify.max_user_watches already at 262144.
Stopping again at random. When I go into Package Center, it says “Manually Stopped” for status. I certainly did not manually stop the package. Logs are attached.
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-12-06_07-04-54.zip (7.7 MB)
Ok, trying this again - uploading two days worth of logs leading up to the c

Part of your upload was truncated (

PLEASE keep ALL the files in the logs for me to see? Thank you.
There are a lot of reports of the scanner stopping and trashing PMS itself.
I think I’m seeing the failure when it scans music.
Specifically, “Sonic Analysis” seems to be causing crashes.
If any of you have a lot of music and can catch the logs ( Full logs ZIP file please ) right after restarting from a crash , PLEASE upload it here.
If it’s reproducible, We’ll grab a DMP file (not let it upload) so I can perform the post mortem analysis myself locally.
@ChuckPa For the previous set of logs I uploaded, I restarted Plex, waited two minutes, then gathered the logs. Is that appropriate? Should I adjust my timing of gathering them? If so, I will do that next time.
Next time,
- Let PMS start and CPU become stable (idle-ish) again.
- Download the logs ZIP
Hi Chuck,
Did you manage to take a look at my logs?
Anyone know if its possible for Synology to generate an alert when the Plex service crashes like this?
12-10-2021_sprmttklly_crashlog-revised…zip (26.0 MB)
Let me know if this comes through!
Answer is no… Doesn’t show in Synology logs as stopped until you actually restart it
Matt,
Do you have your Library settings to perform Partial scan ?
Asking because I see a lot of checking but nothing appreciable.
In your latest log, I am concerned by this but don’t know what it’s telling me.
It’s going to ‘double play’ something???

Receive notifications via e-mail, Tautulli mobile app, Twitter, many other methods. Many notifications supported, not just server up/down (playback start/stop/pause/resume/error, remote access up/down, etc.).
Configure Uptime Robot to monitor the remote access port of your server. It sends an e-mail if it loses contact with your server. Technically it is monitoring remote access, not the server itself. However, if the server is down then remote access is also down. You have to use manual port forwarding in Plex so Uptime Robot knows which port to monitor. UPnP/NAT-PMP port assignments can change whenever Plex Media Server is started and negotiates a port with your router.
Free version monitors up to 50 ports at 5 minute interval. Paid version has additional options to monitor additional ports, send SMS notifications, monitor at 1 minute interval, etc.
You are a legend. I didn’t know about Uptime Robot but I just set it up and it’s working. Thank you!!!

I’m having issues too. Daily crashes of the server but not sure what has caused it. Kept the server up to date with all the latest updates but still no luck in resolving it.
