Setup information:
Plex is running on a windows VM on a 3x R710 cluster with 24 cores and 12GB of RAM assigned and 200GB HD with only 35% used. CPU usage while scanning is less than 10%. Media is stored on an Unraid Server with a SMB share with full access mapped as drive "S:"
Every time I add media, Plex runs a scan that covers the entire library. As I watch, it takes 4-5 seconds per movie to scan. I checked the Plex Media Scanner log and for all the existing movies, the logs state that nothing has changed:

The problem is, since it’s taking 5 seconds per movie, another movie will get added in the 3hrs it takes to scan (2300 movies, 5 seconds each) and it will miss the recently added movie. Then, since I have daily scans disabled, it won’t get added until Radarr finishes another download and forces the scan to start over again. The Plex will catch the missing movie.
I keep missing movies and if it’s in a scan when a movie gets added that I want to watch, I have to manually stop the current scan and start a new scan and then about 50% of the time, it’ll catch the movie right away, but the other half of the time, it’ll take 30min to catch the movie.
These are my settings. I thought I might have fixed it by unchecking everything, saving, leaving the page, then going back to the page and setting it as shown, but it still has the same behavior.
If it’s latency between the Unraid server and Plex, I would notice that in playback, right? I consistently have 4 users with no problems. last week I tested it by having 3x remote users with transcode and a local user doing a 4k transcode and the server handled it just fine.
