Plex Usernames and Hash Passwords Hacked

It appears there was a past of over 300,000 plex users names, emails, ip address, :password hash and password hash salt. If you are interested in the paste, it is located here: http://balockae.online/files/Plex.tv.csv
Plex support, if the link above doesn’t work I have the file on my laptop and can provide it.

EVERYONE CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD

All the passwords that were affected by this hack where reset automatically in 2015
See the blog post from that time last year, https://www.plex.tv/blog/security-notice-forum-user-password-resets/

O, so this is related to that hack and not a new one? How can you be sure?

Because the info in the file is old data

…and if you look around the forum today there have been about 5-6 threads on the subject already

Ok, if you say so. Not sure exactly how you are determining what is old, but I am going to change my password none the less.

It’s old because, for example, when I look up my username in that file it shows an email address that I haven’t used in a year as well as an IP address that is from last year as well.

But that shouldn’t stop you from changing your password if you are at all concered

Awesome, that really helps with the clarification, thanks!

LOL, I love how we start seeing posts for a hack that happened over a year ago.

The reason for the new posts, is there was a new paste of the data uploaded in the last couple of days.

Those who have their emails registered to send alerts of potential hacks all received an email/alert in the last day or two saying their email was discovered in a new paste/hack.
