The current version doesn't support manually added titles yet. I've been meaning to fix a lot of these bugs lately but just haven't had time, hopefully thatll change over Christmas.
Okay i'll be adding alot of movies to themovieDB the next few days :D
Thanks for the fast respons....
15 movies added and now it works, again thanks...
/mkh
Awesome tool. Just set it to run automatically, sweet
I’m seeing the same bugs as the previous post but not for manually added posters, these just look like shows that didn’t find any poster match at all.

Some feedback I received is file size on TV Show episodes would be good, and collection support would be fantastic, in your own time though
J
Hi Stormshaker, you're right about the thumbnails. And collections will make it in, I've just got to find a few hours to do it all.
Actually, as an aside, to everyone who's using Plex Export:
Thank you for your patience. As you may have noticed updates have gone from daily to... well, it's been a while. In the meantime I've been hammering away at my University project and day job which have left me with barely any freetime, and what time I do get would drive me insane if it was still spent in front of a computer. I finish for a nice long Xmas break in a few weeks, hopefully then I can knuckle down and start work on (vastly) improving Plex Export. In the meantime, please don't stop reporting bugs and requesting features.
Cheers, Luke.
A really cool future would be to link from the movie description to a HTML5 encoded version of the movie (using on the fly encoding from the Media Server of Plex).
I don’t know if it’s possible to solve but it sure would be a cool feature…
Agreed, a ZumoCast style play feature would be amazing, but I can’t even imagine the amount of work that would represent :S
If you could find a way to play videos (even if they are only universal–all my videos are H.264
I would totally pay for that!
While we’re on the the topic of playing movies, it would be cool if there were a (password protected) play button when you click a movie / tv show. My lady likes the layout etc for browsing our library much more than flipping pages in Plex or the Plex/Klexi app.
Great job ! This should be include with PMS.
.
Awesome work, but I’m afraid I am definitely a novice and would be grateful of any advice in setting it up.
I have installed php and received the following in terminal:
Last login: Mon Dec 20 00:06:50 on ttys000
alecwindows7:~ Alec$ php /Users/Alec/Desktop/plexexport/cli.php
00:25:28 Welcome to the Plex Exporter v1

I’m not certain that php is installed correctly. could this be the case??
Cheers
Hi Bruce,
First of all, it looks like PHP is installed and working as the script is executing and can actually show you an error message (otherwise you'd get something along the lines of "could not find application php".
As for your problem; are you trying to export the Plex library for the machine you are on or another machine on your network? If it's the machine you're on, make sure that Plex Media Server is running (the little chevron icon in the menubar at the top). If your library is on another computer, then you need to start the script like so:
php /Users/Alec/Desktop/plexexport/cli.php -plex-url http://other-machine-name.local:32400
Let me know if this resolves your issue.
Ignore my previous post…
It helps if you have plex running doesn’t it!?
noob!
Thanks for your almost immediate response.
Unfortunately my flight to New York for a Christmas holiday has been cancelled
In better news, it means I’ve got a few more days in which I can catch up with some much needed dev work
As such, I’m looking at getting cracking on Version 2 of Plex Export. And I have one big question before I begin:
Do you prefer option 1) the command line interface or would people rather option 2) use a regular HTML interface to select the options and export their films?
Option 1 was my first idea as it makes it easy to run in the background and such, but I’m guessing many people would much prefer a standard WYSIWYG interface instead. There’s nothing to make them exclusive but I’ve learnt having two first class citizens normally leads to double the work later on down the line so I’d ideally stick with just one option.
So, thoughts? Also, I’m going to add internationalization, pack the JS a bit better, add support for more media types, all the good stuff.
too bad about your christmas holidays. that really sucks
for plex export v2 I’d go for option 2) as it would be the easiest way for most users.
I would like to keep the command line option as it is part of a workflow…
I'd say that's true unless one of them uses the other itself. And I'd prefer the CLI version.
Thanks for this, works great!
One question I have - is it possible to schedule the terminal command through automator or another method?
Thanks for any help
You could always put it on the crontab, don't know if there's a better alternative.
well, been using alot of time coding a PHP script that fixes all the stupid TV show names which are not located on “thetvdb.org”, then I use the python script “http://tvrenamer.com/” to rename my shows and then add them to my TV dir, after this I run Plex Web Export…
Plz plz plz plz keep cli support…
