Plex Web Export

Ah, Sweet! Now you just need a sweet little GUI interface to make this all nice and cozy for tech nobs like me!

Is there a way to remove a section if i've already scanned all my libraries?

any reason my output (i copied everything to dropbox and then opened the index.html file) looks like this?

It looks like not everything was copied across. Has Dropbox finished synchronizing your files online? (The file icons will turn green when complete).

That was it, awesome!

Very good good thing. But we have a problem with opening a file in browser safari IPAD. No active links in the Genres.

I understand the must-load-images-before-filter-works requirement. Two improvements you could probably make without major structural changes:

A ) If Plex does not supply an image, use a placeholder. Otherwise exports that include a show that legitimately does not have a poster will never work.

B ) Use a placeholder until the poster image is downloaded. This one is a bit more work, but should still let you use an image-centric placement system. It’s a real, at least for me, because even with LAN transfer rates when you’ve got 1000+ images to fetch, and your browser will only form a handful of connections per server, it can take a very long time before all the images are available; being able to filter before it’s done would be a huge usability improvement.

Obviously for big collections a load-as-you-go model would be preferable, but I understand that’s not trivial to slot into the current design.

hi i’m getting this error

Error: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system’s timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected ‘America/Los_Angeles’ for ‘PST/-8.0/no DST’ instead on line 176

and then when i look at the export there is nothing in it. can you guys help??

thanks!

I have been looking into this myself tonight and have added some JS to load the images as you scroll down.
The downside is - It has broken the search function - Images don't load.

I will try to look into it and let Dachande663 have the changes.

Update: It breaks every time a sort or search is done. Only works when in 'title asc' order. Probably a limitation of http://www.appelsiini.net/projects/lazyload

I have almost fixed the sort/search image load issue. It works, but after doing a sort/search I have to scroll once to get the images to load.
Need to find a way of firing automatically when a sort/search happens

Sounds wonderful. If I can be of use testing/debugging let me know -- I'm not motivated enough to do it myself, but I'd be willing to nitpick your code. ;-)

I will try to get it into a proper state at the weekend. At the moment I have to do the generate and change the scripts in index.html.

The reason for having to scroll after doing a search is the event for loading the images is a scroll event.

@profplump - PM me and I will give you my dropbox link for the zip of what I have. You can then generate and have a look.

Hi guys ! I’ve been working on the plex export code, and i’ve developed a plex web client based on Plex Export. I use VLC browser plugin to play the media and it works fine. In addition to that, i have added the trailers for each movie. The prototype is working, updated code is on its way…

Any news on an update? I've been trying plex-over and plex-export and am keen on seeing a working update to these.

/Mark

Hi folks,

I managed to get Plex Export to run under PHP in Windows and it completed successfully. However, when I open the webpage in Chrome I just get a static page without any movies shown. Any ideas ?

This is the URL that I’m using in Chrome: file:///C:/wamp/www/plex/index.html

EDIT: I did find out that it opens fine in Internet Explorer…

Hi, when I click on link to download Plex Export: http://l0ke.com/c2

I get the error 502 Bad Gateway

Maybe it’s 'cause I’m in italy, and we have problems reaching that url.

Can you post it on another host, please?

thank you very much.

Hi paoletto, no it was my fault. I had upgraded my server on the weekend and it had obviously broken it. It’s working now, sorry for the inconvenience.

I’m also having issues with Chrome. Firefox is fine but just get a static home page with ‘loading’ when I open it in Chrome

Additionally I noticed on each movie info page the bitrate is the audio bit rate. It would be great if the overall or video bitrate could be displayed

Same here, in Safari and Firefox everything looks/works great. In Chrome I get this (Version 19.0.1084.56):
