There are about 9,000 movies in this library.
Iām testing in the browser currently as I can easily use devtools to check the network calls. But this affects all clients (Shield, Apple TV, PMP).
When I check recently added items they donāt contain the extra information in the taggings table. They seem to get added a few days > week later.
FWIW Iāve also tried enabling/disabling the Scheduled Tasks that refresh metadata. It doesnāt seem to make a difference. Refreshing an item manually also doesnāt seem to add the extra rows

Deleting all of the tag_id 100 and 101 entries with the extra image urls makes the XML and playback load nearly instantly.

Sure, Iād be happy to provide a copy of the database. Itās about 3GB currently, but Iāll trim it down a bit by removing some of the excess libraries. (Iāll double check the issue persists afterwards)
64GB ram, only 6GB is used currently. The entire PMS install directory is on an Intel 900P Optane drive (They were on sale 
)
FWIW I donāt think this is an IO issue. Iāve ran the DB on a ram-disk previously and it also did not help. Iād be surprised if pulling 10-20 extra rows from the table is actually causing the issue.
Is it possible PMS is unintentionally doing something with those poster URLs that would cause a playback delay?
Please donāt trim down the DB.

What Iāll do is create the dummy test files to support the scanner requirement.
What Iāll do is build up a contained replica of your server on my test machine then give the entire environment to Engineering to do their magic.

As far as reproducing the issue, it can be found with nearly every item in this library.
View XML of an item, most times itāll take 15~ seconds or longer. Those are the items that typically take a similarly long time to start or faily alltogether.

Very interesting. I only have 250 4K movies and almost 1000 1080p movies in a different library and the db size is around 55 MB (on a nvme ssd)ā¦ How did you check the tagging tables?

Make sure Plex is stopped. Maybe make a backup just in case you accidentally make a change you werenāt planning on.
I used the item id(ratingkey) and filtered the metadata id by that number. This shows all of the different info for that item and a ton of extra fields that donāt seem necessary in my instance.
Iāve not found anything specific. Iām now looking at @carrousel5301 and seeing the same āLack of errorsā.
Something is very fishy.
Given I have his DB, Iām reconstructing a ādummy mediaā environment 
LOL
When thatās done, I will spin up a LXC of my own with that media and see what happens.
From there, I will have a self-contained dataset to give to Engineering.

I donāt think they correlate with the ātagsā for each item, or they donāt seem to. This item is not in a collection either.
Thanksā¦ Relaying
And just to reiterate, a simple poster change on items makes the item unplayable. Only way to get it to play again is to unmatch it and then rematch it. Using the legacy agent, no problem at all changing posters and playing the file. I am assuming all of this is related.

I have an interesting intermediate result.
Upon recreating your media files (dummy files), I have the following -
[chuck@glockner Carrousel5301.2010]$ ./makedummy ./media dummyfile
Files Created = 327177
Blanks Skipped = 79416
[chuck@glockner Carrousel5301.2011]$
This is inclusive of movies and series.
The number of blank entries is what concerns me most.
Are these entries in media_parts where file is blank?
Yes, and they shouldnāt be.
Are you sure? I just scanned in 2,703 movies on a brand new container using 1.32.6.7557. 53,199 entries with blank āfileā column were created. 2,712 entries with something in āfileā, I seem to have a few dupes.
