Plexamp Android Auto issues / requests

Loving the sonic analysis results so far. Just took it on the road with Android Auto and ran into a few things.

  1. Mixes for you don’t work. Clicked one and nothing happened. They do work outside of Android Auto.
  2. Would love a way to start a track radio from Android Auto. Right now no way to do that I can see.
  3. Would also be nice to see sonically related albums on the Album view in Android Auto.

Looking great so far otherwise.

Re. the first issue, is there any chance you could provide logs after the playback fails?

Ok so just got out of the car.

  1. Started android auto and then Plexamp.
  2. Picked Mixes For You
  3. There were two listed I picked the second.
  4. Screen said Getting your selection for 10 minutes.
  5. Backed out and picked the first mix.
  6. Screen said Getting your selection for the 15 minutes until ride was over.
  7. Grabbed Plexamp logs attached here.

Hmm, I can’t reproduce over here; if you go back and dive into Mixes for You a second time, does it work? I’m wondering if things are getting out of sync or something like that.

Mixes for you works outside of Android Auto. Only Android Auto seems to have an issue with it. I’ll keep plugging away.

One more issue I have is with Album Mood and Album style radios launched from the Album details page via Android (not auto). I just get couldn’t start playback on any of them. Logs attached.

  1. Start Plexamp Android.
  2. Click on an album.
  3. Scroll to bottom where Album Moods and Album Styles are listed.
  4. Click three dot menu to play associated radio and get Couldn’t start playback immediately.

Please don’t commingle threads. Most likely scenario is you disabled popularity data, but hard to say. If this isn’t it, create a new thread and post server logs during playback attempt.

Has a chance to duplicate the mixes for you issue again in Android Auto. Any mix for you just hangs indefinitely on Getting your selection. Logs attached.

Still having the Android Auto issue with mixes for you with 3.7.1. Plexamp logs attached

  1. Start Android Auto
  2. Start Plexamp.
  3. Home mixes for you. Click any of them.
  4. Gathering your selection indefinitely.
  5. Try another mix, same result.
  6. Played an album and it started up fine.
  7. While album playing click another mix for you.
  8. Plexamp jumps immediately to the now playing screen without changing anything or interrupting playback of currently playing album.

Behavior above strictly limited to Android Auto.

Just want to ask if anyone else has mixes for you working in Android Auto? Trying to figure out if it’s just me. Post above this details my experience.

Here to happily report that version 3.8 of the Android app fixes the mixes for you functionality in Android Auto. Thanks!
