Plexamp keeps computer awake

I noticed that since i started using Plexamp 3.0.X my laptop no longer sleeps as long as Plexamp is open. When i quit Plexamp the computer returns to the configured sleep after 30 minuter pattern I’ve configured, but as long as Plex is launched the computer stays awake. It makes no difference if the playlist is finished or paused. The computer stays on.

Noted, thanks!

FWIW, I have the same problem and it bugs me in the same way. Since the original poster didn’t provide any details, let me say I’m using MacOS Mojave on a newish iMac with an external USB C-Media-based DAC. The USB DAC doesn’t seem to be related. The pmset utility shows that coreaudiod is keeping the computer awake, which goes away immediately when I exit plexamp.

This is frustrating because I listen all day, then walk away from my computer in the evening and expect it to go to sleep, but it never does.

It wasn’t much to tell, honestly. My problem is on a Windows 10 laptop & a desktop computer. Fully updated Windows 10 installs. No particular hardware plugged in.

I can update and say I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seems to happen 100% of the time though. Not sure why Plexamp keeps the computer awake most of the time, but not always. I’d say my laptop sleeps properly 2 out of 10 times I use Plexamp. It seems to me that sleep mode works more often when a playlist is finished, rather than when I pause playback, but it’s not really consistent behaviour.

And to be clear, music is paused, or stopped completed?

Yeah, sorry, I should have said: music stopped.

@elan Is there some progress on this issue? Anything I can do to help pinpoint why Plexamp wakelocks my PCs?

Not exactly related, but just to put in my thought: I actually like that (on iOS) Plexamp keeps the phone alive while it is playing (as long as the phone is simultaneously being charged). That way I can more easily rate songs as I hear them.

sorry, no progress yet, we’ve been using all our spare time adding cast support

I’ve done some findings that might give some hints. I’ve seen that whenever I use sleep timers my laptop will sleep when playback halts. If I pause playback in any other way my computer will stay awake for as long as I leave the computer open.

This is still a problem. Fwiw, after starting Plexamp on both of my computers I will see this in the powercfg /requests

Doesn’t matter is Plexamp is still running or not.
