Hi,
Please be patient I am a total newbie at the whole NAS thing.
I have a readynas 314 and would love to get plex connect on it. I have read though that I cannot get .bin files on it as it only takes .deb files. So, I have no idea how to get the Git or plex connect on it. I have got python on my machine but thats as far as I can get.
I have looked for step by step guides (as that is the level I am at) but no joy. I am willing to have a go at anything to get it working but it needs to be in basic, newbie terms! :D
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers

Try first to modify the list of packages in /etc/apt/sources.list

To install git on OS6 there are general debian instructions that you can get on the web, see this post:
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20097#p153628
Try first to modify the list of packages in /etc/apt/sources.list
add those lines:deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-freedeb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-freeThen try again:sudo apt-get updateapt-get install screenI have not tested so cannot guarantee that it will work (I don't need to use screen since the terminal problem is only when using ssh from MacOS apparently)
This worked perfectly! After doing this I was able to use screen on the ReadyNAS and get PlexConnect running permanently without the need for any computer being on.
Thanks a lot!

I am in the middle of sorting this out, thanks for the advice. Is it possible to have plexconnect on more than on apple TV?
Some more help would be appreciated. I have managed to get the Git installed and python. I have installed PlexConnect and can run it. However when I run cd /etc/frontview/apache (and then) sudo vi httpd.conf to change 80 i get an error message 'no pattern found'.
I don't know how to resolve this, any help appreciated.

Can anyone release a "NTGR" simple app? I'd be willing to pay/donate.

Search Listen with /Listen instead - after that you should have the port of the web server, what do you see there? Probably OS6 is configured differently
Anyone tested v0.1 on Readynas?
Anyone tested v0.1 on Readynas?
Yes, it works
I saw in some other posts that there were better solutions that did not require to change the apache port number, so I worked on applying this to the readynas setup.
The disadvantages of the previous method is that some readynas plugins suchs as "Nas Monitor" could not be launched any more from front view as they relied on the 80 port number, another drawback is by changing the standard httpd.conf file, the modification was overwritten with firmware update (in my case from 4.2.22 to 4.2.23)
After some struggling, I finally succeeded to use the new method (with readynas x86 OS 4). The installation procedure in the header post is updated accordingly
Should be easier now to write a readynas add-on too.
