Plexignore Question

Hi

How do I ignore any folders containing a certain word eg Podcasts.

I tried the line but that didnt seem to work
Podcasts/*

Thanks

No-one has any idea about this???

Assuming your folder structure is something like this (you said "…any folders containing certain words):
Media MarchPodcasts files AprilPodcasts2016 files
If your .plexignore file is in the Media folder, then the line you mentioned, “Podcasts/*,” wouldn’t do anything, because it’s looking for a folder name that is exactly “Podcasts”.

The Help page for .plexignore files doesn’t mention whether wildcards will work for a folder name, but I would try:
*Podcasts*/*
and see if that works.

Thanks beckfield. That didnt work however. I think maybe its a bug or doesnt work in that manner

What is your actual folder structure? The term you use is relative to where the file exists.

Posting in yet another thread to hopefully get visibility… .plexignore is flat broken AGAIN in the latest build or two (0.9.16.6.1993-5089475 for sure)… I’ve previously had rules in my plexignore rule setup like Folder1/FileIWantToIgnore.ext, where .plexignore is a file alongside Folder1 and the containing folder is the “library folder”. Instead of ignoring one file, EVERYTHING within Folder1 is ignored and deleted. Same goes for a subfolder I want to ignore: Folder2/SubFolderToIgnore also results in EVERYTHING in Folder2 getting ignored. I’m pretty sure other combinations are broken too, but I am sick of troubleshooting this unless I’m going to get a dev to listen up. I can’t believe after the previous brokenness with 0.9.15 and now fixing with the initial 0.9.16 builds that this is broken yet again… Do you guys even test this feature?

I am able to confirm this bug. I will let the devs know.

Awesome, thank you. I appreciate someone replying!
If you do need someone to look into exactly what cases aren’t working correctly, I would be happy to do that. I just don’t want any effort to be for naught
