I may have missed this but why do some of my users not show up, I have multiple using Roku's but only 2 out of 5 I get notifications for all have their own accounts and all on the same version.
Great program by the way
If the users show up in plex/Web then they will show up in plexWatch (uses the same API calls). It's possible some are not using a Roku? some clients do not show up in the now playing and that is nothing I can fix.
To verify there is actually someone missing, please do this.
* Verify they are watching someting: check plex/Web to see who is "Now Playing"
* then on the command line run c:/plexWatch/plexwatch.exe --watching
They are definitely using a roku, well a modified sky now box. Thats all they are using as I bought them and set them up, they don't show in plex now watching which is strange as they are all the same and they used to do.
But yep sorry it's an issue that on the plex side rather than plexwatch, I'll dig around on the forums thanks.
I dunno if this helps or not, but I monitor the "Now Playing section" in plex alot. One thing I notice is in the notifications and now playing section, it shows anything being transcoded, loading into a browser, or playing on an android device, but my media center pc, which plays files locally using plex, does not show at all. So perhaps that could be your problem? Hope this helps.

The nowTV box will work fine, but you have to make sure the version of the Plex channel running on it is current. I believe you have to sideload plex? So I am guessing you are just using an old version of the channel.
Yeah I have devices that don’t report to Now Playing such as my LG TV which is fine. The confusing part is I set up all now TV boxes side loaded with the same version and some report in others do not. I guess the ones that report in are the anomaly then. -
watched How I Met Your Mother - The Poker Game - s09e05 [T] [2013] [TV-PG] on Roku 2400SK for 31 minutes [100%]
Ljunkie, I also do now realise this is a now watching issue not something you can fix, when I say they don’t report in above I mean to now playing not to plex watch.
I've just upgraded to the latest Plex Media Server version, and PlexWatch appears to have stopped working. It's still logging new content, but the "Watching" and "Watched" have stopped reporting, even to the.log file in the PlexWatch directory.
Here's the version: Plex-Media-Server-0.9.808.201-e10aca1-en-US

Alrighty, did a little digging. After upgrading, I had also enabled "Require authentication on local networks" which interfered with how PlexWatch was working. I've now disabled that, which appears to have resolved the issue. Hopefully this helps someone down the line!
does windows branch support grouping on the grouped dev? i upgraded the newest dev of plexwatchweb and i was getting a lot of errors so i thought maybe you didnt have windows supporting grouping yet.

No, grouping support for plexWatch/Web is not available for the Windows branch of plexWatch yet. Coming soon. We'll post when things are ready for testing.
This is another background update. It will be required for a new version of plexWatch/Web. You should only need to download the exe as the config has not changed.
Release Notes: 0.1.5 final * switch from XML to JSON for storing the config.pl in the DB
Just updated to 0.1.5 and I'm getting an error stating "**missing file ./config.pl. Did you move edit config.pl-dist and copy to config.pl?"
I have a config.pl file located in the same directory as plexWatch.exe. This was previously working until I downloaded the latest plexWatch.exe and overwrote my existing one.

Sorry, but I cannot replicate. How it loads the config.pl hasn't been modified either. Please double check you actually have "config.pl". A screen shot might help to verify.
That helped explain it. You must run it from within the directory. You are currently in c:\windows\system32. So cd into the plexWatch directory and then you can run it.
Note: that is why they instructions state when running the job to specify the start folder: I.E. schedule a task (every minute) to execute c:\plexWatch\plexWatchNotify.vbs (specify the start in folder as c:\plexWatch\ )
Here's a screenshot of my plexWatch directory and running the .exe:
yea, I have to rebuilt that.. new version later tonight for windows
I should be up for a while, I can test the update once you get it rebuilt. Just let me know. Feel free to shoot me an email directly: nick [dot] heidke [at] gmail [dot] com
