Can’t really see any way to directly report to devs…

Reporting issues with Plex Media Server

  1. Configure server for debug, not verbose, level logging
  2. Restart Plex Media Server
  3. Wait 2 minutes for Plex to fully start
  4. Re-create the problem
  5. Stop playback, wait one minute for Plex to log everything
  6. Pull the log files. Settings → Troubleshooting.
  7. Post log files to the thread.
Drag the ZIP file into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location.

Disable verbose logging. See the previously linked documentation.

After disabling verbose logging, restart Plex Media Server. A restart is required when lowering the log level.

It looks like your system is configured to use AMD graphics.
Jul 28, 2023 17:49:04.940 [14908] DEBUG - [GPU] Got device: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics, amd@unknown, default true, best true, ID 1002:1638:1002:1636, DevID [1002:1638:1002:1636], flags 0x30044

Go to Settings → Transcoder + Show Advanced.

What are the choices for Hardware transcoding device?

If listed, select the Nvidia GPU and save changes.

Nvidia doesn’t show in Hardware transcoding device.

And there is no mention of Nvidia in the log files.

Suggestion:

  1. Uninstall Plex Media Server. Use the standard Windows uninstaller. Do not use Revo, CCleaner, etc. You want to uninstall PMS, but not touch any registry settings, the Plex Data Folder, etc.

  2. Make sure the Nvidia drivers are up to date. If they are, go ahead and re-install them.

  3. Reinstall the same version of Plex Media Server.

That should make sure the Nvidia drivers are up to date and in place when Plex is installed.

Thanks, this worked. In the end it required Plex being uninstalled and reinstalled. Very annoying.

Glad you’re up and running.

For whatever reason, Plex did not detect the Nvidia drivers.

When that happens, a re-install usually fixes things.
