PMS and Raspberry Pi 5

I’m actually using PMS on a very old Raspberry Pi 3B+ and it’s working quite well - minus the ability to live transcode video and audio.

Do you think that the new Rasberry Pi 5, that is said to be twice as powerful as the model 4, will be enough to transcode videos up to 1080p ?

Thanks

When originally benchmarked, the ARMv8 CPU, as used in Synology and QNAP, was found to software transcode up to about 20 Mbps of 1080p H.264 provided there were no subtitles to burn.

If the new CPU is significantly faster then there should be no issues.
