Playing a YouTube video from
Hi all,I'm just playing around with the webCommand API and I'm wondering if someone can give me some guidance on the PlayMedia command.
The example I'm trying to implement is a command to play a YouTube video on a remote plex machine.
From the apparently defunct [PlayInPlex](http://anomiesoftware.com/Anomie_Software/PlayInPlex_Installation.html) tool from VicariousMe, I see that he was using the command
http://10.0.1.2:3000/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=ExecBuiltIn¶meter=PlayMedia(http://localhost:32400/video/youtube/play^aHR0cDovL3d3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbS93YXRjaD92PVI1NWUtdUhRbmEw)
where the goop after the ^ is the full YouTube video URL, base64 encoded.
This doesn't work anymore, so I'm wondering what has changed. I'm not really able to understand how to tell from reading the python file in the YouTube plugin. How do the methods in a plugin translate to the localhost:32400 view? Is this still the right way to do this sort of thing?
It looks like I might be able to do something like
http://localhost:32400/video/youtube/:/function/PlayVideo?function_args=
but again, I don’t really know how it’s working…
Thanks for any help!
