My PMS is not backing up com.plexapp.plugins.library.db, I have the location set right in settings as it still backs up com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db, but not the main one.
I upgraded my motherboard and cpu and moved my debian install to an nvme, so the location changed, but don’t think it can be a permission thing as the blobs.db still backs up.
I’m not certain if it would prevent your database from being backed up, but you may want to check it for corruption using the steps in this support article:
If their backup process is a simple copy and rename, a corrupt database probably wouldn’t prevent a backup. But if they’re dumping and reconstituting it, it may.
Thanks. I did the database checks and it looks like there was corruption, so maybe it is a dump and not a simple copy.
I will wait until there are no users logged in and then do the repair, and then wait to see if plex backups the file. It backed up the blob.db last night, so not sure if plex backs up every 3 days, or if there are no backups for the db it will backup tonight. I will update here when I know.
This did work, thanks. Had to wait the full 3 days for plex to do the backup as I did the repair right after the last backup day.
Makes sense as plex is running when the db is backed up, so you don’t want a straight copy so doing the dump failed with db corruption. Just wish plex would let you know, so you know you have db corruption.
