Portable TV Connection ideas - White Whale of anywhere media consuming...

Ok so i'm new to Plex Pass and I must say I'm impressed with what it can do!  What pushed me over the edge was Plex Sync.  I was dreaming about it when i read you guys already had it for Plex Pass subscribers.  I'm also new to building media servers but now its getting to the point where I enjoy building my media consumption infrastructure more than consuming the media itself... but I digress.

Maybe one of you know of a device that can do what i'm looking for but everything i can find always seems to fall short somewhere.  What i'd like is to have a device that plugs into my TV via HDMI that is the size of a Ruku or even a dongle that has external storage expansion or at least 32GB of storage already onboard.  Something were i can either A. Load up a few movies before i go over to a friends place B. be somewhere with the device and Sync a few movies somewhere i have good internet for later consumption or like a movie selection before dinner, Begin syncing, then by the time dinner has ended its waiting for us on this magical device in 1080p (or at least 720).  I'm not sure if Ruku has this ability but it kills it when it can't play YouTube because i have a good YouTube Playlist for music videos for parties and social gatherings.  Plus YouTube Remote is too awesome to give up.  Obviously want it to control with my phone but i think all dongles do that now (have a Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7).

Does something like this exist yet?  I'm hoping the Samsung Cube is something great as well as something new from Google IO.

This is coming... should be portable.
