Power up a powered down (iMac) to record.
Plex is really meant to be online 24\7 for many reasons.
I am sure there are plenty of ways to schedule your Mac to come online at certain times outside of Plex.
I personally wouldn’t trust the system booting and powering off all the time.
I shut the computer down at night and don’t need it to be on to record until noon the next day. I am considering changing permanently from EyeTV to PLEX. Although there is now no antenna connected to the EyeTV tuner, I still leave EyeTV set to record as previously just so that EyeTV will restart my computer when it needs to be on to record. It would be nice if PLEX would handle this.
