Preview: "Universal" PMS build for macOS (a.k.a. M1 support!)

Does anyone else have issues with the universal binary version of Plex randomly becoming inaccessible locally? This seems to be a newer issue where Plex is almost in a sleep like state. Doing things like accessing the web app seem to “wake it up” or at least move it along. Without doing any other action, the Plex client can end up in an infinite spinner state or trying to resolve for minutes at end.

I’m seeing a ton of “ Waited one whole second for a busy database.” logs coming out of the wood work for a thunderbolt 3 DAC connection…

My database has around 1-2000 movies and around 200-300 shows. There’s definitely no bottlenecks on the I/O side.

I’m noticing each time this happens, my server is randomly not available via external remote streams…. (Note I’m trying to play content locally and it seems like certain things are not trying to resolve locally either).

I’m seeing that of late with the native Intel version. Twice I’ve had to restart PMS to get things working again. Stop it and start it and all back working fine.

The universal build is now in beta as of 1.28.0. If you are on the PMS beta program, you will automatically get the universal build stating with this version. All users will get this once it goes public.

Since this is not longer “preview”, I am closing this thread. Please open a new thread as you would with any regular PMS release if you have any issues.
