Hi,
Ive been having issues with the ‘now playing’ function. In the 1.4.1 version of the player, I can select a show, and it indicates the show is queued, but the ‘now playing’ selection never appears in the menu. In the 1.3.7 version it used to work well, but since the latest upgrade of the server (linux - 1.0.0.2261), it’s now not working at all. Scheduling an evening’s viewing is one of the best and most used features of plex at our house.
My players include mac mini (primary), macbooks, pc’s, ios, and xbox. The server is a linux NAS running PMS (Openmediaserver).
Please, any help is appreciated to get ‘now playing’ working!

you either switch from using PHT to OpenPHT or you wait for the next release of the Server.

I downloaded & ran OpenPHT, and have the same results as with 1.4.1 version of PHT. I can select & queue shows, but ‘now playing’ menu item does not appear.
which version of OpenPHT did you install?
You need at least V1.6.2
The first version was 1.5.x. Just tried 1.6.2, no luck, same issue.

Then I have no idea. It might be, that the issue was not completely fixed in 1.6.2 or it could equally be caused by something else.
It seemed to start with PHT 1.4 version a while back that didn’t appear to support ‘now playing’. I went back to the 1.3.7 version, and all worked well until the latest update to PMS running on linux (openmediaserver).
The same symptom reappeared.
I can build the queue, and the system confirms the selections (“item queued”), but “now playing” never appears as a menu item. However, if I try to manually select a video to play directly, I get an error (paraphrased), “this will delete the contents of the queue, continue?”. Selecting ‘yes’ plays the manually selected file, and (I guess) dumps the queue.
So, there is a queue, Im guessing that it’s just not being displayed.
btw - If there’s a way to revert back to the previous version of the PMS for linux, please let me know!

Version 1.0.3.2461 of the server fixed the issue with ‘now playing’!
