Problems getting TVDB metadata - SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED

Hi to everibody,

My name is Daniel, and I am a member of Plex Pass. Since november, I have detected a problem with the metadata required for TV Shows. Looking at the forums, I have seen is a reported problem.

Due to the update of Phyton to the version 2.7.9, the TVDB plugin integrated in Plex has stopped working, appearing in the log the message INFO (logkit:16) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:590)>) - and not obtaining the metadata (no cover, no description, no image, nothing.)

I have downloaded the certificate from the tvdb website, including the commodo root CA, imported everything, restarted, and the problem persist. It’s curious that when i use IE o Firefox, the cert appears valid, so I imagine Phython will use it’s own CA store…

Please, anyone witha solution that could not be to downgrade to 1.2.7 version?

Thanks a lot.

Anything below 1.5.1 is not supported anymore. That’s more likely why you are having issues, not python.
