After playing the first of two trailers, the ps3 freezes while loading the second trailer. I tried multiple movies and it loaded different trailers each time, but it always freezes on loading the second trailer.
Same here. Not just a minor freeze, either; the PS3 stops responding entirely, forcing a cold boot, followed by a mandatory ‘drive scan and repair.’
Every time.
Oh PS3 that’s really lame. We had similar issues with Channel content.
Please try disabling Direct Play in the Settings menu below your user avatar. This will cause the extra to be downloaded by and transcoded by your Plex Media Server before it begins playback.
In my tests the PS3 is more stable when I do this. If you all have similar feedback we’ll get a release out there which forces the trailers/extras to transcode.

Disabling “Direct Play” in the settings menu does appear to resolve the issue for me.
Yes, I can also confirm disabling ‘direct play’ is a temporary solution
Our new 2.4.20 release will automatically force transcoding of the Extras and Trailers on PS3 to avoid this. You just need to start the app up to receive this workaround.
