Essentially, it takes your library and creates a channel browsing interface, complete with channel surfing (and jumping into a show in the middle), and an EPG. Unfortunately, it only runs in XBMC, and well, Plex is where my heart is, for the media server metadata matching alone.
I'd love to see it ported it over!

I used PsuedoTV back when I was using XBMC, it was definitely nice. I'd love to see something similar, though after reading through that linked post I dunno how practical it is.

Early 2021 clean-up: future post/duplicate with significantly higher visibility
Basically the ability to emulate the TV watching experience.
eg, Watch TV channels created with your own media (and potentially with online media).
Running a home media server is pretty awesome: beautiful cover art, playlists, and all your media right at your finger tips. One thing media centers fall short on, however, is recreating that feeling of aimlessly channel surfing just to scratch that TV watching itch.
