Raspberry Pi 4 - Plex Appliance (Ubuntu Core 18) SNAFU - SMB/CIFS?

Server Version#: (Image) plexmediaserver-core18-pi.img.xz (PMS is a SNAP) latest/stable 1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd

Everything was going swell until I tried to map SMB shares (network drive) to the PMS. Ubuntu docs drop you off here and there is no guide to explain just how you are going to attach any kind of media to it, let alone USB drives which aren’t recognized.

Ubuntu Core disallows ‘apt-get’ so thats out of the question. I finally tried to install the classic environment to Ubuntu Core (sudo snap install classic). This worked but the install was borked because it would not load the classic environment (sudo classic).

I finally gave up after 2 days. What is the method for mounting network shares in the Ubuntu Core server 18? I am almost going to say this whole thing was half baked and go with a more complete build of Ubuntu 20 for RPI Arm8
