I keep getting stuck in a loop whereas I download the update for Version 1.16.0.1226, but the Raspberry Pi - PMS, keeps reverting back to Version 1.15.3.876. It’s as if the PMS downloaded an update (using sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade) and that update wasn’t fully packaged at the time I was notified it was available. Now, as a result, I can’t get the full update, as the PMS believes it has been downloaded already. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Or do I have to wait for another update to be published and attempt to download that one about a week after publish?
The package includes only the server binaries and dependencies. Your Plex Library is not affected by installing, updating or even removing the plexmediaserver package. Just never ever do a purge, that’s the only harmful command.
But please first make sure that you have migrated from my dev2day.de repository to the official Plex repository, as discussed in the above migration guide.
I believed I had already updated (migrated) to official Plex repository, but I am not able to upgrade still. I attempted the (sudo apt-get install --reinstall plexmediaserver) - with failure. No errors, just not really updating/upgrading. I am not sure what to do to fix this. Any suggestions?
Apparently, I didn’t migrate completely before. I missed a step. Thanks @drmagoo for sending that article. I had a lot of appointments at the VA Hospital, but I was finally able to correct my error and then update. Perfect…thank you!
