When I select update nothing happens !!!

No, that's wrong.
My own RPi (currently on loan to my brother) is set up with Rasplex 0.2.1, as unpacked from a release package named "rasplex-0.2.1.img.gz", with an internal file date for the firmware file "rasplex-0.2.1.img" of 2013-07-06 (so July 6th)
Another release has been made since then, this being Rasplex 0.2.2 in a package named "rasplex-0.2.2.img.gz", with an internal file date for the firmware file "rasplex-0.2.2.img" of 2013-07-12 (so July 12th)
You can always find the latest releases (and many old ones too) on the sourceforge page "http://sourceforge.net/projects/rasplex/files/release/"
