Receiver always displaying PCM.

Hi, everybody.

On my receiver, it alway displays PCM (please don’t explain what PCM is and why my AVR displays this). If I tick the settings in PMP, either way, my AVR always displays a PCM signal.

I prefer to have my AVR do the decoding and I would like to see the pretty lights os my receiver light up and display ATMOS/DTSX.
Before judgment falls and I’m accused of not hearing something as obvious as ATMOS/DTSX let me explain.

I have nerve damage in one ear which means I can no longer hear where sounds are coming from. A visual reference helps me know enough to concentrate.

The only other thing noteworthy is I have two PC’s. Both are on the same network, both are Windows 10 but one will act as a mainframe or server, It and a NAS hold all my media file and have the PMS on the PC. The other PC has PMP.

Your help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Does anybody want to take a shot?

One thing I should have mentioned is what I have. That might help!

You probably can figure out that I have an HTPC running Windows 10. All my media file are on a Qnap, NAS and another Windows 10 PC I use like it’s a server.

Both PC’s are on the same network, the HTPC has been Dolby Atmos updated via the speaker configuration and a download via the Windows Store. Cool demos if anybody wants to check that out.

I installed an EVGA, nVida GT 1030 and the speaker configuration had a Dolby Atmos option.

If anybody has more questions, just ask.
