Recently Added Music Videos not picking up all recently added videos

I recently ripped some of my concert DVDs and added the videos to my Plex server (Synology running Plex 1.24.5.5173) using the Local Media Assets setting in Agents to point to the music videos. I followed the directions on the page Adding Local Artist and Music Videos, under section Global Music Videos Folder.

The videos do show up as expected under each of the individual Artist pages, however, they rarely show up under the Recently Added Music Videos section on the Music home page. I do have that section enabled, where three of the videos show up. I was expecting to see seven there, all added at the same time.

Suggestions and guidance regarding getting all recently added music videos to show up under Recently Added Music Videos will be greatly appreciated.

If you’re getting some of them – you have it configured correctly.

That leaves Permissions to be the other possible (and common) blocker.

Make certain System Internal User PlexMediaServer (or ‘everyone’) can read the files.

(sometimes, when copying from our computers, the permissions don’t get set properly)
