Came to the forum specifically looking to request this feature. Would love to be able to do this...
I want to be able to piece together my favorite horror movies come October...the best Christmas movies in December...and be able to constantly cycle in and out what people should be checking out.
I'd also love a way to program a viewable "Live" stream, where you basically setup a playlist that plays based on local video sort of like a TV channel. Say every thursday at 9pm the next chronological Seinfeld episode plays, and every Tuesday at 7pm runs through Breaking Bad in order. Fridays at 10pm is B-horror movie time, etc. Not sure if the two are exactly intertwined from a programming perspective...but both are providing suggested content to my shared users in different ways.

I just spent a couple minutes trying to find the recommend button, because hey there is a recommend section. It did seem odd to me that the feature wasn’t already there…
It would be neat to be able to recommend different items in your library to different users (I wouldn’t recommend the same stuff to one person, that maybe I would recommend to another), Maybe little check boxes with “Recommend to All” as default, but also a manual selection ability that would let you check/uncheck certain people.
That said, I would still be pretty happy with just a simple button on the left I click that would make items from my library show up as simply recommended.
Bumping this because I wasted 3 hours troubleshooting my PHT, my android app, and the web app to find the damn Recommend button, to only find that I CAN’T recommend my OWN stuff? I LOVE Plex, but find this the most confusing ‘feature’ of them all. The entire POINT of Plex is LOCAL content - WHY can I not recommend it? It’s amazing that this doesn’t already exist.

This option is a must. Cayars, your methode is ok, but it can only be performed by the pms admin, so for those who are using plex pass with our family and friends, we can’t recommend it to the other users of the same PMS 
I’m not sure I follow you. My method just creates a new library essentially in the background using tags.
Since it’s actually a TRUE library it can be shared like any other library and fully viewable by anyone you give library access to.

I definitely want this feature too. Here’s more description of what I feel it should look like or the type of feel & functionality.
I would like to have a list I could regularly change or update with my personally suggested titles; Have an ability to change it bi-monthly, seasonally, or on random occasion. The content manager could select up to a specified number of recommendations (maybe capped up to 20 total selections). When the specified Server is chosen, and the viewer’s web settings are selected to show the content manager’s “Recommendation List”, the recommended selections would be viewable.
I already see automatic recommendations and suggested viewing when using the apps in Android, iOS, Smart TVs, and media devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, etc. This feature would not be much different, other than the selections are chosen specifically by the content manager.

This is a feature I would love to have. Was kind of baffled that ‘PlexIt’ was not this feature, after fumbling around with it for awhile.
I’m constantly reminding my friends about movies I told them to watch that they haven’t yet, if I could easily put it front of them on their Plex home page on my server, that would be AMAZING. Would save me a lot of “So, did you watch ‘so-and-so’ yet?” conversations

+1 the current recommend feature just needs to be extended to the core server library. Its current setup is so restrictive its pretty useless. Like others i want to recommend something great ive watched without having to resort back to social media and shout it out to the world.
I want to be able to go into an item in my library, click and recommend to whoever I already share that content with.

Please expand the ‘Recommend’ functionality to my, or a friend’s, library so that I can share the show that I just finished watching to a specific Plex friend. I would personally like to see a new Library added to the left hand side-bar that would show me a count of un-watched recommendations that, when selected, could be filtered by the friend/s who recommend them.
ie.
Channels
Playlists
Recommendations
Movies
TV
Expanding on this functionality it would be nice to be able to track if these recommendations have been watched!
All of this could, or should, be optional whether a user allows recommendations or show tracking to anyone or to specific friends.
As well I would like to see this expanded to ‘Watch Later’ so I can add shows from my, or a friend’s, library to watch later if I am just casually browsing and don’t actually have time to watch anything.
