New installation of PMS on my NAS. I simply can’t get it to work with any client on my LAN. I’ve tried the app on the iPad, MacMini, Samsung Smart TV (x2). I can log into my account but it always says server unavailable. I’ve tried using auto detect and manual IP and port. Nothing works. I’ve uninstalled PHT on the MacMini and installed PMP - still not working.
I CAN find the server and stream no problem if I use Chrome - so the server IS working.
Its a Synology DS1815. I had to completely rebuild the volume hence reinstalling Plex Server as a Docker app. Same configuration (to my mind) as Plex was prior to the rebuild when it was working.
I’m using DCHP reservation so the IP is the same as before the rebuild and yes, everything is on the same subnet.
I would rather not do that if possible. The reason i originally ran it in a Docker container was because i was having so many problems running it natively on the Synology mainly around performance (some unresolved threads I’ve posted remain on this forum).
Moving Plex into a Docker container fixed all those issues and Plex was really stable.
Only since I’ve rebuilt my NAS volume have i encountered this current issue. It was working before and it works via Chrome so the server is working for the most part.
I run Plex in a Docker and had an issue with remote access initialy (My fault) because the docker container defaulted to Bridge networking instead of Host. may be worth checking?
Thanks for that. My docker is configured as Bridge networking, not Host. Is that easy to change without recreating the container? I can’t find any option on the interface or from a Google search.
