Yes, you will need to edit the index.php file. Adjust 30000 to your desired refresh interval. Note: This value is in milliseconds. You may need to refresh the page, outside the normal automatic page reload, for the changes to take effect.
I will also try to add this to the web config in the future.
@isaacrdz said: @MattsShack Could you tell me where in the code to change the orientation to landscape? I understand it’s probably not something someone might want to do but I just wanted to see how it would look with just the poster.
Well the poster should automatically scale its width to %100, which might look funny on a widescreen horizontally. You could try changing style=‘width: 100%’ to "style=‘height: 100%’ in getData.php

Worked perfectly, changed mine to 15000… I had seen that number but didn’t realize it would be in milliseconds. Thanks for getting back to me. I saw on your blog you’ve been busy with 3D printing. I too have been dabbling in that world for the past year… thingiverse.com/johnesc/
“I will also try to add this to the web config in the future.” That’s an excellent idea!
Not sure if my SD card became corrupted or an update messed up my Plex Movie Poster Display configuration. It was down for quite some time cuz I was just being lazy about redoing the whole Raspbian Jessie install and the PMP Display setup from scratch but I spent my Monday and Tuesday evening getting it all back online. I have it successfully working again with the latest Raspbian Jessie OS and Chromium in kiosk this time. During my last install I had used the Epiphany browser to run kiosk mode.
@JEscHT I am glad you got it working.
I am working on a few updates / feature , but it is going slow since real life has gotten in the way (And I need to upgrade my Plex server).

Also, nice theater room setup. Looks awesome.
That’s great @MattsShack I just ordered a 50" Sharp TV with Roku built-in this past week that will be arriving this weekend.
I’ll be able to use it with the Roku Plex app and then when it’s not in use I’ll rotate the TV into portrait mode and just leave PMP Display on my Pi running all the time while we’re home! Ordered a rotating TV wall mount that allows me to spin it from landscape to portrait: amazon.com/gp/product/B005MHGCSK/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve been trying to get this running but still it’s showing a black screen for me. I tried a bunch of options including permissions for cache/ and config.php and some of the ones in this thread including allowing the “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”. I get this error.
Does this depend on php5, enough for it to break it or should php7 be fine?
@ImSammy
Try changing the Client IP address to the local default IP address of: 127.0.0.1
I believe that’s what did it for me but I’ll keep looking thru my notes.
I’m not sure what that error message means other than to check Line 16 of the getData.php
I’ll check what’s on my Line 16 in the meantime.

Yeah I did try that however that would assume my RPi3 was the client which is different from the actual client.
@JEscHT said: @ImSammy When I run the php -f getData.php like you did I get the following:
Interesting so I ran the site within my QNAP NAS (where my Plex Server is located on) and it displays it working now. Maybe the issue here is that it doesn’t support the site unless it’s local @MattsShack granted that probably doesn’t make sense if you’re being able to run if off your RPi.
@MattsShack If I put 2 Client IP addresses in the field box separated by a comma or semi-colon, should or can the Now Showing work when either of the clients are playing a Plex item or does it only work with 1 client?
@MattsShack I successfully mounted the 50" Sharp Roku TV using an Entegrade 360 Degree Rotating Wall Mount from Monoprice.com for the purpose of use with Plex Movie Poster Display on my Raspberry Pi that I Velcro’d to the back of the TV. I also get to use the TV in the normal horizontal position to serve as a Plex client through the built-in Roku app and all of its many other apps! Loving it so far… Need to have an electrical outlet put directly behind the TV and would like to build a frame around the TV display as well. youtu.be/YVZUvS7NE50
@JEscHT The script is only designed to work with one client. When I get more time I might be able to look into more than one client, however I have a few other changes I would like to make first.
Setup is looking really nice. I cant wait to start working on my setup again.
I initially tried this as well but wasn’t able to resolve it by adding the external IP address.
Is it possible to show multiple library sections for example Movies and TV Shows, currently I have it set to display just movies. Also I’ve built a frame for my shucked display but it displays the top and footer text with the image a little offset.
So, I just found that and I have to say that it is an awesome idea and project! A question whomever is the admin or could it be a remote user streaming it? I have a cousin that has a great cinema room but he streams from my Plex Server also. Would it work for him no matter which PMS he is streaming from?
Thanks!
@rbeatse Thank you. It is a fun script to work on. I am working on a newer version with a few added display options. I am traveling a lot in the next few months, but I I hope to have a newer version out shortly after I am back.
That is a good question I have never tried a remote PMS. I don’t think it would work because the script is scraping the Plex server to get the information and I am not sure that can be done remotely. It might take some special settings on the remote PMS. I might look at it once I get the next version released.
@MattsShack Does PMP Display reuse the images that get added into the Cache folder or should those pics be flushed out after sometime? I’ve got over 7,000 images in the Cache folder at this time…
