Renaming order for Naruto Shippuden

Will Plex understand this naming order?

I see that Season 1 is Episodes 001 - 032
but when it gets to Season 2 it carries on from Episodes 033 and so on throughout the Seasons up to Season 21, Episode 500

TVDB lists
Season 1, Episode 1-32
Season 2, Episode 1-21

Just a suggestion, but do yourself a favor and adopt Plex’s series naming guidelines. Whether or not it works right now, given your current naming, it will eventually break. The linked doc spells it out, but, in short:

  • Season folders should just be the word “Season” followed by a space an a two-digit number representing the season number. In your case, “Season 01” and “Season 02” would be appropriate for the two seasons. You’re generally doing this now, but you have extra information which could trip up the scanner.
  • Individual episode files should contain, at a minimum, the season and episode numbers in the format “sXXeYY” (SXXEYY also works, but hey, the document) with XX and YY representing the season and episode number of the episode, respectively. You can optionally include the series name and episode names in the filename (see example below).
  • If you’re going to include additional information in the filenames, include it as a single string at the end of the filename, enclosed in square brackets. You can include the series name at the beginning of the file. Example: Naruto Shippuden - S01E01 - [random garbage].mkv.

A full directory structure and file name example might be:

C:\Media\All My Series Live Here\ <--- Library points here (naming not important)
    Naruto Shippuden (2007)\
        Season 01\
            Naruto Shippuden (2007) - s01E01 - Episode Name [random garbage].mkv
        Season 02\
            Naruto Shippuden (2007) - s02E01 - Episode Name [random garbage].mkv

Also, it’s important to adhere to the episode’s season/episode numbering as shown by The Movie Database or TheTVDB, depending on which ordering you chose for the series in Plex.

Do the right thing now. There are tools which can help you with this which have presets supporting Plex’s naming convention (Filebot comes to mind).

Thanks, I’ll rename all of then to what you have suggested.
Some Season folders have 42 episodes in them but TVDB only lists 23 episodes, so those other episodes from 24 - 42 will just show up in Plex under that season as just Episode 24 etc with no additional information?

Maybe you rather want to use the episode ordering of TheMovieDB: Naruto Shippūden (TV Series 2007-2017) - Seasons — The Movie Database (TMDB)

How can I change different scanners for different shows?

Not different scanners, not different agents.
You edit the show itself at it’s top level. On the Advanced tab is the episode ordering selector.
