There is already a way to filter via video; to see standard definition at the top and then it scrolls down to high definition.
I would like a means to filter by audio(for video), which would be 2.0 audio at the top and then progress to 5.1 audio.
This way, I would know which video files need to be updated/upgraded.

Yes, it should be an easy addition.
I would be fine with the filter only working through the PLEX on the PCā¦
Just upgraded to a 5.1 setup, Iād really love this feature, the only apprehension Iād have is plex ability (or most players) to recognise and play the correct track. Some stuff thatās 5.1 dd or atmos and especially aac seem to be producing different tracks to my system (ie not recognising the dd etc.)
If you just need a list which items to upgrade, I recommend you Plex2CSV.
Itāll give you a CSV file with selectable detail, which you can open and filter and sort in a spreadsheet app like Excel and the like.

Have you actually used Plex2CSV? I just installed it based on your recommendation.
And none of the filters concern audio.

Of course I used it. I helped dane22 betatesting it.
You must set the detail level in the preferences of this plugin.
Set the Movie Export Level to āLevel 666ā and youāll get all data there is.
And none of the filters concern audio.
āAudio Channelsā gives you the number of channels ā2ā for stereo, ā6ā for 5.1 surround
āAudio Codecā gives you the type of audio
'dca-ma' for DTS Master Audio
'dca' for normal DTS
'ac3' for Dolby Digital
'mp3'
'mp2'
'aac'
'truehd'
etc.
āAudio Stream bitrateā gives you, well, the bitrate of the audio stream(s)
āAudio Stream Bit Depthā is usually 16 or 24
āAudio Stream Bitrate Modeā gives you either vbr or cbr for āvariableā or āconstantā bitrate mode
āAudio Stream Sampling Rateā is also there
That is plenty of technical detail.

Well I can admit when I am wrong, in a senseā¦thanks for the information in expanding the technical detail.
Yet, it seems that for some reason in that "Audio Channelā Column - months will be listed.
Like it will state Feb 2nd or Jan 6th. Even checked to see if that date corresponds with the number of audio channelsā¦it doesnātā¦

I have that too, but only if I open the CSV in Excel. Excel tries to be āsmartā by interpreting the string 2/2 and 5/1 as ādatesā. You can check whatās actually in the file by comparing and opening the CSV in a text editor.
This happens when there are several files for one item, for instance when you have āoptimized versionsā of a movie or the movie has stacked files.
If you open the file in LibreOffice, there are fewer of these āquirksā.
