I have several Collections of Paw Patrol episodes that correspond to DVD sets of episodes that we purchased. For example, “The Great Snow Rescue” collection corresponds to the DVD of the same name, and “collects” 6 episodes that were on the disc.
On the Roku client, when I select the collection, I can see the episode titles and 16:9 preview images, which makes it super easy for my kiddos to track down what they want to watch.
On Android clients like my phone and my Shield TV, the collection just has the episode season and episode numbers, and the cover image for the TV show (the same poster image for every episode). There is no way to identify which episode is which without selecting an episode, which takes you out of the collection and into the episode view of the TV show. It’s… less than useful.
Please update Android clients to have the same behavior as the Roku client.
FWIW that’s the same on iOS (couldn’t verify for tvOS right away).
I guess what you’re aiming for is to have the episodes in that collection displayed similarly to how they’re presented in Plex Web?

And yeah, if that’s the way it looks on the web, yes. That’s also how it looks on Roku. That’s, to me, ideal and should be the standard across devices.
The method on Android and, I suppose, iOS is next to useless.
For that matter, the same goes for the skip behavior on Roku vs Android. I find Android’s skip forward and back behavior less than ideal, and having switched from primarily Roku to primarily Shield TV, I basically am unable to take advantage of the fast-forward/rewind thumbnail feature that I found so useful on Roku.
Bumping this in hopes that this is addressed while the new android UI is still in development. Please allow some form of option to view episode names in TV show collections!
