I would like to propose adding a login via phone Notification popup much like Steam client and Discord mobile app (Discord does QR scanning, so not quite what I am proposing but it is similar). Microsoft does this also, you choose to allow login for someone accessing your email by a phone popup that allows you a choice between “allow” and “deny”.
For example, I have Plex Client on my Nvidia Shield and my Plex server running on a NAS and I have a Plex client on android phone as well. When I go to login to my Plex account on my TV Nvidia shield, I am prompted for a pin. This pin is frequently on full view of anyone sitting next to me or in the living room. This means my pin isn’t very secure at all and asking everyone to look away is rather cumbersome and creates distrust.
This can be fixed by allowing me to confirm via phone login popup that its ok for my Nvidia Shield to login to my account, rather than by using a Pin. It could be kept either/or or toggled by preference under user account settings.
