I would like something that will look at the database then start a “guide” of trailers for content based on a genre. I could see this as a portrait selection right in front of the first movie or just an option when you enter Movie or TV or Music tab. It should incorporate the drill down functions of existing filters; Genre, Year, etc.
• Movies: This would play random trailers/previews non-stop based on movies located in the libraries. If clicked the screen should offer the option to play the movie from the library or skip. It should also have a flag for Watched/Unwatched. This would help in discovery of new unwatched movies.
It would offer a selection based on the same categories we currently have it would just be a little more visual friendly.
• TV: This would be roughly the same. It should have weight on unwatched TV shows/seasons. It could help encourage watching an unwatched series from the library.
• Music: This section would randomly select songs based on genre and allow the user to select “more from this artist” to dive directly into the collection or just leave it alone and act like a radio station with varying artists.
Think of this like a preview of the library and this will help the user find content to enjoy that they might not have thought/known about existing. It could also help if stuck in a lethargic state or settle compromise between 2 people trying to decide on what to watch or listen.
