Updating sequentially shouldn't be a problem as long as it is inside an if statement and the first change is to the variable that triggered the change. Of course, you can always update several Prefs in one call.

I am trying to use only Plex Framework methods if possible.
I agree with that philosophy. Things are more portable across platforms that way.
