I meant the actual homepage in the internet:
Bottom right -> country selector
Oh yeaâŠ
Does that matter?
It might - I donât know.
For me it means there is no âofficialâ entry into the countries that are not listed. So even if I buy one here in Germany there probably wonât be a lot (any?) German âchannelsâ. If you only use it for Plex, it wouldnât bother one.
As previously mentioned, and taking in to account youâre a Plex User so I probably know what kind of stuff youâre used to, youâre not going to want 98% of what Roku âChannelsâ offer outside of Plex, so until Roku increases itâs EU footprint - itâs not gonna make any difference.
The Good Channel Apps - the ones you might actually use - are probably already in âThe Rest Of The Worldâ.
You wonât have a lot of useless âclutterâ. <â and that does describe the overwhelming majority of what Roku Offers in itâs âVast Channel Lineupâ.
I have 3 Plex Channels
Sky News
NHK World
CBS 24/7 News <âRare/Disaster/Hurricane Strike
PBS <âhave never used it
Mr. Loboâs Channel <âLobo is cool - the content is awful
a few more I donât use or migrate in and out when requiredâŠ
and thatâs about it.
Still, if I have to choose between a Roku and an Android TV or Apple TV, which probably also has the other âchannelsâ/apps/plugins I use, it is clear why people here donât buy an imported Roku.
Apart from Plex on my Shield I mainly use Netflix, Dazn and youtube and have used other (local) streaming services. Will all this work on the Roku? I wouldnât bet on that and for the local ones I am quite sure they wonât be available. Deal sealed.
Edit: Amazon reviews are full of people complaining âit doesnât workâ in Germany. Good job from Amazon selling it here anywaysâŠ
But enough of Germany, wasnât the point of this discussion anyways
Because âBog Standard Usersâ are clamoring for everything Roku Promises and Promotes - until they actually see what it is - trash.
The Point is - until you step outside âAndroid Worldâ onto Planet Roku - and a real Plex App - one like youâve never seen before - you donât know what weâre talking about.
One canât experience the Ride of a Rolls Royce Silver Arrow unless you ride in one (might suck - but the Roku app doesnât).
Two of us are saying basically the same thing:
The Roku is the preferred weapon of choice - even when we switch to something else BRIEFLY to cover some area Roku doesnât do well in. When thatâs done we canât get back fast enough to Roku.
Jus sayinâŠ

huh? I have Plex Preview and Plex (i only use plex preview) Iâm just curious what other ones you have.
P.S Roku > Firestick
I keep a âRARflixâ in the grouping 'cause I have a Roku2HD (for emergency/loaner) and it coughs up hairballs on the new UNOâŠlol
BTW: RARflix will probably stop working one day.
When it does weâll have the funeral for the Roku2HD and I can then remove RARflix from the lineup.
BTW2:
I used RARflix on everything during the various iterations of Roku App Tests - until they released UNO, then kicking and screaming I fired it up and saidâŠ:
âWhoa⊠this is differentâŠâ
I saw a bright light and my life changedâŠ
