rPi Plexamp local control

Is there any way to locally control the headless player?

I have a headless rPi running different software in one of my rooms with an RF remote connected to it so that I don’t always have to pull out my phone to pause or skip tracks. I would love to replace it with Plexamp so I would have access to all of my Plex playlists.

The headless player is controllable from any Plex app which offers control as well as Plexamp.

I know you can control it remotely. The question is whether there are any local sockets that can be used to tell the player to Pause, Play, etc…

There are many use cases for an rPi based player where local buttons would be extremely useful.

I’m also sure I’m not the only one to experience many of the current connectivity issues where various plexamp players either don’t see each other, can’t talk, or do talk but don’t allow any control until the first track has finished playing. The last thing you want in a headless player is to have to unplug it in order to get it to stop playing.

Yes, port 32500. Same remote control protocol as other Plex apps.

Oh. Thank you.

I was aware of the API for the server, but not the one for the players.
