RSS on your site

Can you add RSS to your blog and to ALL forums?

Thanks.

Hey,

Can you add RSS to your blog and to ALL forums?

Thanks.

Hi, ShmulikL.  Welcome to the Plex forums.

RSS is enabled on the Blog.  The URL is https://blog.plex.tv/feed/

Ip.Board (this forum software) is capable of providing RSS feeds on a per forum basis but it is not enabled here.  In lieu of RSS you can 'follow' any particular forum topic you wish by clicking the 'follow this topic' button on each topic page.  This will provide you email subscription updates at defined intervals depending on your preference.

If you're intent on using RSS to follow a topic you can Google for ways to turn any website into an RSS feed.

I know it is not enabled here, that's why I posted that topic. I want to follow NEW topics by RSS, not to subscribe to each new topic. I don't want to check each forum several times a day to see if there's something new. RSS is much better way to keep in touch with pages such as forums.

And what about the blog? Why no RSS there?

There is RSS on the blog.  I've just provided you with the link.

There is no RSS on the forums.  I've just provided you with an alternative.

Email alert is NOT an alternative for RSS.

RSS is passive aggregator, where I get all my news in one place - when I want to see what is new with my news feed. Email, on the other hand, is for correspondence.

The RSS link to the blog does work, but it is not part of the HTML, thus RSS readers can't detect it. It should be disclosed using tag:

link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"

Hope you can see the differences.
