Save A Battery - Disable Video on Portable Devices

There are many times I’m on a long plane flight and want to go to sleep listening to my favorite movies. This would be much better if I didn’t wake up to a dead battery…

Is it possible to add a “turn off screen” button so we can listen to a movie but save battery time by not illuminating the screen?
